All work was carried out in an organised and masterly manner.
His communication was carefully considered and his response always based on sensitive listening to client needs. Clearly, my wife and
I would recommend Michael to any prospective client.

My wife and I recently required repair work and some renovations and alterations to our weatherboard cottage. We asked a number of carpenters, including Michael Hooky, to give us quotes for the work. The quotes covered a range of prices, but what impressed us about Michael was the approach he took to the job. Other quotes may have been lower, but we were looking for repairs and alterations that would be long-lasting rather than just quick fixes. Michael explained what he thought needed to be done and how he would do it. He also explained the choices we had in relation to the materials to be used
in the job. Having given Michael the contract, there was no delay in starting work. It was completed on time and within the quote. Most importantly, the work was done to the standard we had wanted.
We are more than happy to recommend Michael for any carpentry
and related work.

Michael is extremely professional in all aspects of his work.
We were impressed with:

Good Communication. Michael took the time to understand our needs and also kept us up-to-date with project progress such as when materials would be delivered etc. He also gave good professional advice in terms of ongoing maintenance of the finished projects and types of products we used.

Options. Michael worked with us in choosing the best materials
and hardware for the budget available.

Use of other tradespeople. The tradespeople that Michael subcontracted were equally professional and well mannered.

Craftmanship. The finished projects showed great craftsmanship. Michael offered great input in terms of design suggestions and materials.

Extras. Michael always maintained a clean, tidy and safe work site.

We have been very pleased to have Michael work with us and are extremely satisfied with the outcomes of all these projects

Michael completed a major renovation of our house this year, during which time he extended two bedrooms, the laundry and the bathroom. The work included working with us on the design, submitting plans to Council, gutting both the laundry and the bathroom, moving internal walls, re-tiling and installing new toilets, a new shower, a new bath, laundry units and so on.

Michael is an excellent carpenter and builder, being professional, skilled and highly efficient. We both really appreciated his consultative manner, and the way he worked with us to get the design and result we wanted. At no stage could we fault any of his workmanship. Everything was completed to the highest of standards, and we can truly say that we wouldn't change anything in terms of the final result.

Michael was also very flexible. As the job progressed we added things, such as timber flooring, a window seat, and an additional toilet. With many builders, if you add or change things, the charges for variations are very expensive. However, Michael was always very reasonable with fees, and despite the changes we requested, once he had started working on our house, he continued, and didn't leave our job half finished while he went to start on other projects.
